Employment History
2007 - present
InTACT (IT for the ACT Government)
Business Systems Services section / Education IT
Senior Information Technology Officer
Duties:
My previous position with the ACT Training and Tertiary Education (TaTE) Directorate was shifted into the InTACT agency following restructuring by the ACT Government.
Here, I continued to provide ongoing maintenance of TaTE's existing ACT Vocational education Management System (AVMS), as well as contributing towards the redevelopment of a new AVMS system designed for the Microsoft DOT.NET platform, using Visual Studio and SQL Server.
I was also assigned to maintain or troubleshoot various other DOT.NET programs for the Department of Education and Training (DET), as required.
From August 2009 until March 2010, I spent a period in the Web Services team, where the task was to develop and maintain the ACT public school websites and the public DET website (http://www.det.act.gov.au). For this we used the MySource Matrix content management system for design and layout, in conjuction with CSS, javascript, and the use of technologies such as JQuery and Web 2.0.
While I enjoyed this particular area very much, I have since returned to the Business Applications section of InTACT where my longstanding knowledge and understanding of TaTE's business is beneficial in maintainance and development of their applications.
